How much does support cost?
Once a website has been launched, I will be available for paid maintenance or change requests that clients are unable to do on their own using my VedaCMS editing system. There is never a charge for general questions, so please always feel welcome to email me if you need help understanding something about your website editor or hosting account.
My time spent on client support or change requests is charged at an hourly or fixed rate as outlined below. Because I work alone and receive a high number of support requests, I ask that clients use their VedaCMS website editor for any changes they can do on their own so I can focus on support requests that require my assistance. If you have problems, I'm happy to walk you through the process. If you still can't manage it after several attempts, I will do the update for you at my normal maintenance rate.
Normal Hourly Rate: $50/Hour
Hourly rate for website changes, image editing, code changes and anything else that isn't a general question, VedaCMS bugfix or anything that was the result of my own error. There is a 30 minute minimum charge unless you're requesting one of the items listed in the 'Common Changes' section below.
Rush Hourly Rate: $100/Hour (30 minute minimum)
This option is for clients that want their changes started within 24 hours of making the request and not be limited by my Monday/Friday support schedule. Availability of this option isn't guaranteed, as I may not always be able to accommodate a rush request. If that's the case, I'll respond to your ticket within 24 hours to let you know unless I'm completely unavailable/offline due to vacation or holiday time.
The following items are the most common change requests I receive and their typical costs. If it takes several revisions to finalize a change, the cost will be higher because of the extra time investment. Also, the prices below don't apply if you are requesting Rush service, which is always charged at an hourly rate.
Design Photo Changes: $5-$15/photo
Cost for swapping out photos built into your design. Most photos will be $5/page unless I need to do touch-ups on your images or do special editing to place them in the design (ie: background extraction, advanced fading/masking, etc).
Banner Creation : $25
Cost for an additional banner if no more than two revisions are needed.
Color Pallet Change : $200+
Changing the color pallet requires creating new graphics and editing the code which defines colors for your site, so it's a more lengthy update. This is the starting cost if no layout changes are made, though it can be higher if it takes more than 2 revisions to finalize the the palette.
Complete Redesign : $900
Because a redesign usually means starting over from scratch, I charge my standard design rate but with a $100 discount applied.
